Company Policy

Terms & Service Policies – Personal Pride Dry Cleaners

1. Inspection & Collection Policy

Customers are required to check all items at the point of collection to ensure:

  • The order is complete
  • Items are in a satisfactory condition

Once items have left the premises, we cannot accept responsibility for:

  • Missing items
  • Issues that were not raised at the time of collection

2. 14-Day Reporting Policy

Any concerns or issues relating to cleaning, damage, or missing items must be reported within 14 days of collection.

After this period:

  • We will not be able to investigate claims
  • Claims may be refused in line with company policy

3. Uncollected Items Policy

All items must be collected within 3 months of the completed cleaning date.

After this time:

  • Items may be disposed of or donated
  • This is to recover cleaning, storage, and processing costs

We will always try to contact customers where possible, but it is ultimately the customer’s responsibility to collect items on time.

4. Care Label & Cleaning Process

All garments are cleaned strictly in accordance with:

  • Manufacturer’s care label instructions
  • Industry-standard professional cleaning methods

Please note:

  • Some fabrics may react unpredictably to cleaning
  • Pre-existing wear, fading, or weakness in fabric may become more noticeable after cleaning

We cannot accept liability where:

  • Items have inherent defects
  • Care labels are missing, incorrect, or misleading

5. Buttons, Trims & Accessories

While we take every care during the cleaning process, we cannot guarantee the integrity of:

  • Buttons
  • Zips
  • Sequins
  • Beading
  • Decorative trims
  • Glued or bonded elements

These items are often delicate or not designed to withstand cleaning processes.

6. Pre-Existing Damage

We are not responsible for:

  • Wear and tear
  • Weak or deteriorated fabric
  • Loose stitching
  • Previous repairs
  • Colour loss or fading due to age

Any such issues identified during inspection may be noted but may not always be visible prior to cleaning.

7. Stain Removal Disclaimer

Stain removal is carried out using the best professional methods available, however:

  • Complete removal is not guaranteed
  • Some stains may be permanent or may cause damage if removal is attempted aggressively

8. Liability Limitation

In the unlikely event of proven loss or damage caused by us:

  • Liability is limited to the fair market value of the item, taking into account age, wear, and condition
  • Compensation will be handled via our insurance process where applicable

9. Customer Responsibility

Customers must:

  • Empty all pockets prior to cleaning
  • Inform us of any special requirements or previous damage
  • Ensure items are safe to clean

We are not responsible for:

  • Items left in pockets
  • Damage caused by undisclosed issues

10. Right to Refuse Service

We reserve the right to refuse cleaning of items that:

  • Pose a risk to other garments or equipment
  • Are heavily soiled with hazardous substances
  • Do not have a readable care label (unless customer accepts risk

11. Agreement to Terms

By using our services, customers agree to all policies outlined above.

Additional Service Policies

Express / Same-Day Service Policy

Our express and same-day services are offered for customer convenience where time is limited.

Please note:

  • Express cleaning is completed within a reduced timeframe, which may limit the extent of:
     
    • Stain removal
    • Finishing quality
  • By requesting an express service, customers acknowledge:
     
    • There is an increased risk of incomplete stain removal
    • Some processes may be adapted or shortened
  • We cannot guarantee full stain removal or perfect results on express orders
  • Express orders are accepted at the customer’s risk, and liability is limited to the same terms outlined in our general policy

Wedding Dresses & Specialist Garments Policy

Wedding dresses and specialist garments require delicate handling due to their materials, construction, and sentimental value.

Please read carefully:

  • All items are cleaned in accordance with:
     
    • Care labels (where present)
    • Professional experience and best judgement for delicate fabrics
  • Due to the nature of these garments, we cannot guarantee:
     
    • Complete stain removal (especially makeup, fake tan, wine, or grass stains)
    • Preservation of delicate features such as:
       
      • Beading
      • Sequins
      • Lace
      • Embellishments
      • Structured bodices
  • Many wedding dresses contain:
     
    • Mixed fabrics
    • Glued components
    • Hidden stitching or tension points
  •  These may react unpredictably during cleaning.
  • We are not liable for:
     
    • Damage to delicate trims or embellishments
    • Weakening of fabric due to age, wear, or prior alterations
    • Yellowing or changes in fabric tone over time
  • Where items are heavily soiled or stained, cleaning is undertaken on a “best results” basis rather than guaranteed outcomes
  • Customers may be asked to sign a cleaning consent form prior to processing high-value or delicate items
